Lavenderclaw sat up from her sleep and blinked miserably at the sunlight shining through the reeds. Yawning, she stretched out of the warrior's den and padded to Snowstar's den. "Snowstar?" she called.

She looked at Lavenderclaw and smiled. "Yes?"

Lavenderclaw looked at Snowstar's kits with a sweet smile. She turned her attention to Snowstar and grinned. "I noticed you and Littlestar were sweet on each other at the Gathering."

(I freaking tried to reply already but my computer messed up I guess.) "Well..." Snowstar hesitated, then smiled. When she spoke next, she made sure only Lavenderclaw could hear her. "There might be some feelings there. But nothing can ever happen. He's the leader of Thunderclan, and I'm obligated to my own clan. Self-indulgences come second to the well-being of my clan." She was smiling, but mainly to hide the sorrow she felt about the truth of her words.

Lavenderclaw smiled. "If you think you're fooling me, you're truly wrong. You love him. And he loves you. Snowstar, I should know. I love Shadowchaser, it's hard..believe me...But denying yourself of him would be even harder. Riverclan won't blame you."

Snowstar nodded, smiling sadly. "I know. But with both of us being leaders, it seems harder. We both have specific obligations to our own clans, and what would happen if a battle broke out between our clan and his? Would I fight with the cat I love? And if not, would I then simply fight with his mother, or his siblings, or any of the other cats he cares about? No, as much as it might rip me apart, I know I must take the needs of my clan first. If things seems to work, out then I'll be so thrilled, my heart might explode. But if not, at least I'll have served my clan well."Even though she knew she had to listen to her own words, she still couldn't help but hope there was a way for things to work out between her and Littlestar.

"That is the risk with love Snowstar." she murmured." Riverclan and Thunderclan seem on good terms. But you must decide." She nodded and began backing out of her den.

She smiled softly, shrugging. "Perhaps. But for now, I'm going to focus on the clan. If Starclan permits it, we'll end up together." Oh how she hoped they could be together! She also knew a lot of the decision rested on Littlestar's shoulders as well.

Lavenderclaw shrugged. "Just follow your heart Snowstar." she dipped her head and walked away. Padding around, she looked around the camp, wondering what she was looking for As she padded past the nursery, Iceykit tumbled out. Her heart panged with sadness as she realized what she had been looking for. In Iceykit, Lavenderclaw saw Shadowchaser. An empty hole twisted in her belly and loneliness forced through in her heart. She sighed and sat down, staring at her paws. Absent mindedly, she began walking out of the camp, determined to make herself useful. Her pawsteps began making cracking noises and she looked down at the pineneedles below her. Disdain siezed her as she realized she was close to the Shadowclan border. She turned tail and started running, tears flowing down her face.

(sorry i'm not logging in. for some reason it won't let me.) She was sitting in a shady area, looking calm and relaxed. While she sat, her eye scanned the camp for Spikepaw.

He padded to the entrance of the camp, wondering if he should follow Lavenderclaw. He'd seen how upset she'd seemed, so he wanted to go and comfort her, but he also knew that sometimes just a little time alone could be helpful. He hesitated, then padded out of camp and followed her slowly, making sure she was safe but not invading her space.

After a moment, Emberpaw padded up to her to make sure she was alright. He sat down by Lavenderclaw and silently watched, occasionally trying to calm her don so she could breathe better.
